Coast Guard Buoys

ORNAMENTS IN THE MESS — Looking like giant Christmas tree ornaments, these buoys, stored across the road from the U.S. Coast Guard base, take on a festive look during a snowstorm Thursday afternoon. The snow gave way to sun and blue sky temporarily later, but weather canceled all after-school activities in the public schools, including parent-teacher conferences at Kayhi, Revilla and Schoenbar schools. Bus routes also were altered. Staff photo by Hall Anderson

We pass these buoys any time we go anywhere on the island. The Coast Guard Base is pretty close to where we live, which I think is neat.
